Sian appeared on ITV’s This Morning today sharing advice with callers about how to deal with anxieties connected to life returning to ‘normal’ after the coronavirus pandemic.
Sian told viewers that feeling nervous about the lifting of restrictions, such as being able to visit shops and restaurants once more, was normal.
“We have been in a state of threat for a long time,” she said. “The brain is only doing what it should to keep us safe, which is looking out for the next threat.”
She advised viewers to make take slow steps, only do what you feel comfortable doing, and be thoughtful about the lockdown experience.
“What lockdown has done is perhaps taught us what we value,” she said. “In coming out of lockdown we want to hold on to the things that have worked for us.”
